end of the world, a billion years too soon...

I believe that the world wont end until a long, long, long time. probably a couple billion years from now. And by then we probably would've civilized a planet or space station for us to live on. I watched a video about when the world, and the sun, and the planets are all going to be destroyed/are going to end, and it was explaining the times when the sun will start to heat up the whole planet to where it is completely uninhabitable. I don't really remember the time frames, but it was about a couple billion years from now, and again, we would probably be living somewhere else. The "end" isn't going to be because of a new year, or because of "judgement day" it is none of that crap.

inention that changed journalism...

A seemingly small invention that changed journalism, and that helped it on its way was a printing press. Nowadays people use modern printers and computers to print there newspapers, and some are even on the Internet, but back in the day, people used there sweat, hands, tears, and paper and ink to print their newspapers. The printing press made it a lot easier to print newspapers, books, and posters without having to hand write each and every one. It also made printing more efficient, by making the print smaller than possible while writing, thus using less paper and saving more ink. they don't use printing presses very much anymore, but it revolutionized journalism.

future space programs...

A program that NASA is planning and in the process of creating is a new mars rover. on May 12, 2011, parts of the mars mission spacecraft were sent to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The pieces that were sent were the heat shield, back shell and cruise stage of the Mars Science Laboratory spacecraft. The mission is planned to launch in the later months of 2011 and NASA's rover, Curiosity, will reach the surface of mars in August of 2012.

thinking before posting...

I agree with the #1 rule of thinking before posting. I agree with it because anything you post never goes away. It never goes away from the Internet, and even if you delete it it never leaves the peoples minds that read the post. Also if you post something offensive, you really have to think about your audience, and who will read what you posted, because anybody can take offense to anything. And another think, you could really get in trouble for posting something that you cant post, like offensive words, inappropriate things, or by talking about someone without permission.

I the 1990's Angelina became a popular actress. in 1998 she starred in a television movie called Gia, which she won a golden globe award for best actress. Osama photos...

I do not believe that photos of Osama's corpse should be released by the president. i believe so because  i think that it would put our country in more danger than it already is in, from actually killing him. And i think that people are stupid for not believing Osama being dead, when the president goes out of his busy life to say that they killed an important leader, than people should believe him, not saw its all "fake" just because there are no pictures of his dead body.

Osama's death...

I believe that this death was a great and not so great feat. it is good because we killed a man who has killed hundreds of people, and who planned the 9/11 attack. But i think it is bad because his followers and worshipers if you can call them that, are still alive and probably more hostile than ever. they will never stop until they get there revenge. So i believe that this was a good, and also bad thing to happen.

McDonnalds job giveaway...

I think that this "job giveaway" that mcdonnalds is doing is both good and bad. it is bad because a lot of teenagers are just starting to get jobs and they can not start off well if all of the jobs that they usually do are taken by other adults. This is also a good thing as in the adults who cant get jobs in this economy can get jobs from mcdonnalds. so it is definatly good and bad.

including others...

there are many ways that i could include others into my opinion in my writing. one way I could is by interviewing people on the topic that I am writing about. for instance, if I were to write about a sports game that our states team won, than i could interview the teams players or the coach to learn about how tough it was, or i could interview the other team to get their side. Another way is to have other people working beside me, so I could get their opinion on the subject.

yearbooks...

I believe that yearbooks are journalism. i think this because you need people to take pictures for the book, also in the ones for people graduating, the students get to write a caption under their pictures, and that may disclose some information. another reason why yearbooks would be considered journalism is that the group shots in the yearbook could tell you about what classes, groups, or other things that each student was in. And finally, i think that it could be considered jounalism because it stays with you forever, just like stories written about famous people. so smile for the camera!

review...

I believe that this critic failed to comprehend this spectacle of a movie. He said that it was a stab at a good movie, while i thought it was amazing! It had a good story, it had good action, and it ended, well it was a fine ending, but that part of it could have been better, nonetheless, it was a great movie in my opinion. This critic also seemed to not comprehend that the "states" that the girls went into while dancing were just a metaphor for the state of mind of the girls while dancing, not just something that happened out of "thin air." And another thing, he said that the movie was a seedy, desaturated, overstimulated simulation of a real movie," and that is his opinion, but it still doesn’t mean that the movie is as bad as he thinks it is.

Radiation...

My views on Ann Coullter are not that good. I believe that she is not smart to even start to talk about the health benefits of radiation. She believes that some radiation is good for you, and that may be true, but the amount right now in japan, no matter what she says, is defiantly bad for the people of japan. She believes that it will help you and give you immunity to cancer, the only thing it will give you is 3 heads and 6 eyes! That much radiation is defiantly not good for you. Also, i believe that it is humorous that she thinks all of this, when she isn't even a doctor, and probably doesn't study radiation, so who is she to talk about all this!

St. Paddys day...

I believe that st. Patrick's day is a bit racist. I believe so because it is mostly all just Irish people going and having a good time. mostly drinking. also it is racist because it is mostly for people who are Irish and or religious. But I do not think it is fully racist because people of all races are Irish, and almost everyone celebrates saint Patty's day, no matter what race. I pretty have split opinions about this.

Paid caller...

I believe that it is not ethical to pay callers on a show or radio station. I know it would be simpler to do that, you would get the right answers you wanted them to answer, and it would take a certain amount of time, but there is no point to the caller if they are paid and scripted. it only makes sense to keep them as random people, and it keeps you waiting.

Death Protest...

I believe that it is wrong to protest at someones funeral. I believe this because the people attending (friends, family, etc.) would hate you for protesting against the dead person. Like if someone went to the funeral of the founder of McDonald's and protested against their food for being unhealthy, it would be a disgrace to the deceased and to his/her family and business. Also if Micheal Vick were to die than it wouldn't be right to go to his funeral and protest against animal cruelty. This means that i think that people should not be able to protest at someones funeral.

Ethics...

I believe that there are right and wrong ways to write about a friend who is a travel agent. A wrong way could be to be completely byas about him by saying, for example," oh you should definitely travel with [agent name here]," or by saying " so and so is an amazing guy, better than these other chumps!" But there is a right way to write it, you have to leave out all things that look or sound byas, and make it less and less byas until it is not byas at all. Oh another way to do it is to get someone else to write it, and tell your boss that so and so is writing this article and i am writing another one, but you may not want to do that.

Fireballs...

Well I heard about the explosion in Allentown from CNN, we watched the video and learned a bit about the fire explosion thing. I believe that the reporter did not really report on the subject well. I believe this because she asked mainly the same questions, and they were mostly the simple questions like "was anyone hurt" or "how much did it destroy" she should have asked the man thing like "how long did the fire take to be taken down" and "was it hard for the firefighters to fend off this fire." I am not telling the reporter how to do her job, but she might want to think before she says.

First Amendment...

I believe that the laws that may become true in Tennessee are unethical. I believe so because it is going against the first amendment. for the first one, if they would teach creationism, it is going against freedom of religion and it would make families be angry at the schools. and also with the not saying "gay" in school would be going against freedom of speech, and if your student's parents were gay, the teachers/student would not be able to talk about them. Another thing, this law thing is said to help to prevent homosexuals also. I believe that if someone like the same gender, than not saying what they are will not prevent them being what they are, and this law will not change that.

KillSwitch...

I believe that this kill switch would not be a breach of the first amendment. I believe this because all this would be doing is turning off all the Internet. I guess it would be a bit because it is not allowing us to use the Internet to talk or blog and such, but it is not not allowing you to talk and have free speech, it is just not allowing you to use the Internet to talk. Also, this is not, at least to me, invading anyones privacy. I mean all it would be doing is turning off peoples access to the Internet, not deleting all of their documents, or checking everyone's e-mail. I would not enjoy it if this happened in our country, but i would not be saying that it was breaking the first amendment, ether.

MP#3 Quote...

I believe that this quote means a lot and also has to do a lot with journalism. even the first sentence, "Journalism can never be silent" because it is true, like when you write and then post a story, at least someone reads it. And they tell someone about that and then tell all their other friends about the story and by then everyone knows about the article. Also, once it goes live on the Internet, it can never, EVER be taken back...EVER! And in many ways it is its greatest virtue and greatest fault. And also, it does in fact "must speak, and speak immediately" as in everyone wants to read more and more about trending topics. And they want to hear more about what they are reading/learning about, instead of changing to a completely different topic.

Autism...

the effect that this had on the public was what I would think as shock and disgust. I believe this because this man made us believe for ten years that the source of autism was a certain vaccination, which could have been helping us, but it hasn't because we didn't know if we should take the vaccination. I believe that this should be in the news because it is very important as i would think. I mean, i think it is newsworthy because it is about a sickness/disablement that a lot of people have.
