Ratings...
I believe that this system does work. I believe this because when you go to the movies and you want to see a rated R movie, they have to check to see if there is a legal adult with you wnen you enter the theater. Also the rating system helps parents make sure that their children are watching the correct, age friendly shows and movies. And even playing the right games. So I do believe that the rating system works.

Headlines...
1. Hobos ribs break because of a snuggie!
A hobo sleeps on a bench near the bus stop, while wearing a green snuggie. His body blended in with the bench and A bunch of people sat on him, not knowing he was there. Woke up after the third person, and goes to a hospital and somehow pays for X-rays to see his broken ribs.
2.Loch ness monster Dead because of a Grenade!
A couple of men went down to the Loch ness in Scott land and saw a head like figure popping out of the water when they went to go fishing. For some reason, they were war veterans and had a grenade on had, so they threw it in the water near the head and suddenly the whole body of Nessie floated to the top of the water.
3.Fight Over a Video Game!
Two Weeks ago was the release of the best game of 2010, Call of Duty: Black Ops! Everyone, and I mean everyone went to the Midnight release. Everyone wanted to get the fist copy, and two nerds were in the front of the line. they were fighting over their spots and when the first nerd got the first copy, the second nerd in line started a nerd fight over the game, while everyone else was getting the game.
4. Justin Bieber fans go Crazy!
Justin Bieber had a cocert at some state or another and most of the crown was made up of 14-16 year old girls. All the girls faught over the front seats, and when Justin came came out girls cried and one girl Even had a Heart Attack!
5.Newspaper tradegy!
This may be too graphic for young readers, but one guy stuck his finger in the printer, and he slipped and fell into the printer, His blood got all over the Papers. Very sad.

deer hunting...
I believe that deer hunting is fine to do. There is an abundance of deer in delaware, as Mr.Mayo said, and I believe that when this hunting season starts the amount of deer will go down. Also hunting deer will probably keep the deer out of the street so they wont get run over and risk the lives of people driving. Another reason why hunting deer would be good is for their meat, because some people like venison. Their are resons that hunting could be bad. Like how a lot of people die a year from hunting accidents, and also the people that are against eating meat. But I think that hunting is an okay thing to do, as long as people don't overhunt.

Colorful source...
I believe that in this story there were very poor editors of the paper. First off the person who wrote the article should have edited and improved almost all of the article before it even went to the main editor. Also later down the line when the paper editor got the paper, he should have made the story completely flawless before it went to the public. And finally I believe that the source must be angry at the Newspaper for disgracing and misspelling their name. And they probably wouldn't let them quote them again.

Space-Time cloak...
I believe that this "space - time cloak" story is actually very newsworthy. I believe this because it seems to be like a teaser of some sort of the near future. Also it seems very interesting, and it really makes you think very hard with the little bit of brain we use. It also make you thinks about how people could abuse this "cloak." they could, for example, steal money from a bank without people knowing. So my conclusion is that it is and isn't newsworthy. As in it is intriguing, but scary at the same time.

FaceBook Pictures... MP2 #1
I do not believe that it is ethical to take pictures from facebook for news journals or any story about that person without their consent. I believe this because I would not want my picture in an article without me knowing what picture it was or what the article was about. Which is also probably what other people would want too, unless they like that sort of thing.

Jail...
I believe that if we were writing in a newspaper at the time of this standoff, then i would listen to the states request and not let any information of this standoff get out to the public. i believe this because i would not want the people of that state to be paranoid of jail prisoners escaping, because that's not what happened, but people would take it that way. Also I would probably get in trouble with that state and maybe be suspended from the paper, which would be bad.

Comm Ethics...
communication ethics come up in the news a lot. Like how the news channels can't false advertise, and they can not lie about someone or a story. Also right and wrong come into play here also, like how your allowed to cuss on the news, but it would be best if you did not. Oh and it is also not right to exaggerate about something, even if it makes the topic better.

american eating...
I believe that a lot of Americans are obese. i mean, with all their McDonald's and taco bells. Once in a while some people eat fast food, but obese people eat it all the time. And they never exercises or even try to get skinnier. So I believe that America should promote eating healthy and exercising more than they do now. There are certain television channels that stop for a day for people to go outside, but you could just change the channel. And we shouldn't go as far as to stop all TV, because some people enjoy it, but there should at least be some way to reach out to helping out with obesity.

Test flight...
I do not think that the test flight is newsworthy. I believe so because it only went in space for a little bit, and then just glided down in 11 minutes. Also i don't beleive anyone would care about it, it would just be extra newspaper for next years crab feast or something like that. And i do not think that anyone would want to sped that much on going to somewhere that you can see from anywhere. And i know that it would be used for transportation, but i don't believe someone would paythat much more just to get to somewhere a couple hours before they would from regular flight.

what if you don't tell them...
I do not believe that it is ethical to tape a source without telling them. I believe so because they might say something to you that they may not want to be recorded. Also it could not be good for the source because he might say something insulting towards a certain group of people and not want people to know what he said. for example, if you were interviewing the person(source), they would think its a private interview, but in actuality you were recording them. And so later on when the tape goes on the air, the source would most likely be very angry with the interviewer.

lack of free press...
I believe that other countries lack free press because they do not have a well organized government. Depending on the person reading, he might have a negative attitude towards the article and might want to kill the man if the article is negative about him.
social networking...
I believe that social networking has revolutionized many things. One thing that it has revolutionized is communication. A lot of people nowadays communicate using social networks including twitter, Facebook, myspace, etc. If you live away from someone that you would like to communicate like a relative or friend in a different state. All you have to do is sign in and use the chat client on that website to talk to them.
Social networking has revolutionized making friends. I mean, you might be "friends" with your actual friends friend on facebook, but it doesn't mean that you are actually friends. Social networks can help you meet people in real life. Like some one's status might be "going to the movies" and you could respond and say "I'll meet you there" and then you can make friends. Just make sure you go with someone who knows that person so it not a complete stranger.
It has also revolutionized news in some ways. Maby you're following a group of something and they post a lot of info. on that subject, that's a big way to learn about some news that you want to hear about. Also you could find out what your friend is doing just by checking their status.
One last thing that social networks have revolutionized is Business. Someones status could be "looking for a job interview." And if a person has a Job opening in their job, they could ask them if they could come in for an interview.

Embeding...
I believe that it is wrong to embed journalists in the war. I mean they have no means of defense and all the do is record the war. They could just get those clip-on camers if they really want to record the war. And i also think that its not appropriate to even show videos about the war. I think its disrespectful and not nice for the men that died.

Journalism...
I believe that journalism is not too detached from overall society. I mean, most things that people read nowadays have to do in some way with journalism. Be it the internet or the newspaper or the news on the television. Most people have seen some type of journalism.
The news need journalists so they can get the good juciy storys for their air on television. Also the newspaper is full of journalists. they get into the action to find out all about their articles to find out if all the facts are true. Also the internet is full of journalists. all the websites like yahoo and TMZ and stuff like are full of them. they sometimes might not speak the truth though.

Privacy...
I believe that privacy is very important. Privacy is important in everyday life. If there was no privacy than our world would be chaos. there would be people stealing identities left and right. There would be crimes up and down and every ally. It would be horribly horrific.

koran burning...
I believe that Terry Jones can do whatever he likes. It may not be the best decision, but it might mess him up in the long, and he will know why. I mean if he wants to burn the Korans than he can go right ahead and do it, but he just better not get all worked up if and when other people burn the holy bible.
I believe that the only reason that he was even planning on burning the Koran was to get attention to his church and more importantly, to himself. And I also believe that the press should not have went along with this guys charade, I don't even think that he would have went through with it, even if the press did not make him public.

Hard News...
There are many things that you must remember whilst writing a hard news story. One of those include using correct and true facts, other than opinionated facts made up by the reporter. It is Imperative that you use true facts because then, when the story is printed, you could anger people if the facts weren't true. Oh and you could lose your job.
Also another thing you should keep in mind while writing a hard news story is to write the most important things in the beginning so you get readers hooked on your story and to leave the less important stuff for the end or better yet, take it out. I mean, nobody wants to read a story about how "the house was blue" or " the victim was wearing plaid" the people want to read that "The gigantic blue house burnt down to the ground in ashes" and "A man got shot with sixteen bullets while wearing a plaid shirt."
Remember these things and you will be the best hard news writer ever!

If I Were the Editor...
If I were the editor for the school paper than I would put the main articles on the first page and near the beginning while leaving the least interesting/ less important articles closer to the back. Also I would add sections to the paper, like entertainment, world news, sports and stuff like that.
Conflict of Reason
I think that I am most likely to do the conflict of reason. I think so because I would rather interview friends than to interview random people or people i hate.
